Liam completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Liverpool John Moores University, which included an internship at Everton FC working with their 1st team and academy. This was the start of his journey within the applied setting, and he later went on to become a sports scientist at Liverpool FC while investigating the training load, energy expenditure and intakes of the 1st team squad as part of his PhD thesis. Liam then went onto leading performance departments both overseas at Mol Fehervar FC (Hungary) and domestically at Crewe Alexandra FC. Liam has now returned to work in academia and is supervising others in professional sport settings.
