Can I defer or amend the start date?
If you have submitted an application to the University of Birmingham and have yet to receive a decision and you wish to request that your application is considered for the following academic session, please email pgadmissions@contacts.bham.ac.uk, including your applicant ID number in the content of the message, to request this.
If you hold an offer for a postgraduate programme at the University of Birmingham and you wish to request that your offer to the following academic session, please email pgadmissions@contacts.bham.ac.uk, including your applicant ID number in the content of the message, to request this.
It is usually possible to defer an offer but this is at the discretion on the relevant academic department and is not possible in all cases. If a deferral is not possible we will reply to your email to confirm this and you may still take up your offer for the original intake if you wish.
Please note; it is only possible to defer an application or offer once
