Library front elevation

Important information for guests invited to the University library topping out ceremony on Thursday 4 June.

Guests should arrive at 9.45am prompt to be issued with protective equipment, given a safety briefing and escorted into the building site. The ceremony will commence on site at 10.30am. The ceremony will be followed by light refreshments.

The University library is being constructed on the University's main Edgbaston campus. Please note there is no parking on the construction site and guests should report on foot to the pedestrian site entrance marked Gate 4 near to Muirhead Tower.

There will be no requirement for guests to bring their own personal protective equipment, as everything which is required will be provided on site. However, as the ceremony is taking place on a construction site, guests will be required to wear sturdy shoes and will be provided with high visibility jackets, hard hats and gloves.

Please would you kindly let us know if you have a health condition or disability, the effect of which may mean that we will need to consider making arrangements for your attendance (including parking or access to buildings).

Please confirm your attendance by emailing Kara Griffiths, communications and stakeholder engagement manager, estates development, at k.j.griffiths@bham.ac.uk
