Professor Anne-Marie Russell
You are warmly invited along with your curiosity to Anne-Marie’s inaugural lecture. We will start in the middle and end at the beginning of a very rich and diverse career in clinical research.
Contemplating the art of breathing we will celebrate the delicate architecture of the lung and explore the interstitium – the space in the lungs where lung tissue contacts with the immune system, blood vessels, nerves, or connective tissues. Thickening of the interstitium occurs in ILDs which are often irreversible, shortening life. The classic symptoms of breathlessness, cough and fatigue that tend to worsen over time often elude effective management.
Anne-Marie’s research explores the symptom science in ILD, improving health related quality of life for those affected, and family members and friends who take on supportive caring roles. Working together with patient collaborators and leading global clinical researchers to advance the science is enriching. This lecture will celebrate these authentic collaborations and the altruistic contributions of patients with a joyous outlining of the next chapter.
Join us for what promises to be a fascinating lecture. Open to all. Please note this is an in-person only event.
