Dr Joseph Wragg

PERCAT Rep for the Institute of Cancer and Genomic Sciences

Hello fellow Postdocs and Early Career Researchers,

I’m a postdoctoral research fellow in the field of developmental and cancer epigenetics, with a particular interest in embryo development and vascular biology. My research is focused on interrogating dynamic epigenetic changes occurring on enhancer and promoter gene regulatory elements, during embryonic and tumour development.

I’ve recently joined the PERCAT committee (July 2019) as representative for Cancer and Genomic Sciences, but have frequently attended and benefitted from the excellent set of events and seminars provided by the PERCAT team and am keen to facilitate other early career researchers to similarly benefit.

I’m also a keen teacher, having designed and taught on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and been accredited as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) through the Birmingham Beacons program. I highly recommend likeminded early career researchers to consider this program and am happy to offer advice.

If you ever see me in the corridors of the Medical School/IBR, please feel free to stop me to say hello.

Joseph Wragg
