As Deputy Director of Operations (Research and Knowledge Transfer), I work in partnership with Professor Richard Butler, our Director of Research, to develop and deliver on the College’s Research Strategy. I am responsible for bringing together pre-award, business engagement and charitable funding research support professionals to facilitate a high performing research environment.

We encourage applications and manage the grant pipeline through: provision of advice on the current funding landscape and opportunities available; help to identify relevant stakeholders; facilitate proposal development; co-ordinate peer-review; build and manage funder relationships including initiating and maximising interactions with industry collaborators and charitable donors.

Through the provision of research planning and strategic project support we deliver on REF, support the leadership of interdisciplinary research communities of scale and capacity, and provide support for generating research impact.

To aid the academic experience with the research grant lifecycle, we also help to facilitate cross-talk between pre-award and post-award teams to create the highest quality environment for project delivery. The R&KT office also co-ordinates training and support for our post-doctoral community through the PERCAT programme.
