Adele Atkinson

Join Professor Adele Atkinson for her inaugural lecture on "Financial literacy and financial inclusion”. The lecture is also the launch event for CHASM’s new annual lecture series.

People face myriad opportunities, decisions and challenges throughout their lives that they must navigate to ensure their own financial wellbeing. Whatever their circumstances, they need a combination of skills, confidence and guidance to help them to maximise their potential, avoid mistakes, and build financial resilience for the future. They also need access to a range of well regulated, appropriately priced financial products and services.

Globally, policy makers, academics and others recognise the value of increasing levels of financial literacy and financial inclusion and continue to develop new approaches intended to make a significant difference to people’s lives. Drawing on over 20 years of work in research and policy, Adele will discuss why financial literacy and financial inclusion have remained priorities for so long, and consider what more is needed to create lasting change.

There will be Tea and Coffee from 3.30pm, the Lecture to start at 4pm and there will be a drinks reception from 5pm.
