Our Welcome programme has something for everyone - make sure you know what you need to attend for your academic programme and start exploring all the other exciting activities and events you can look forward to.

Your Welcome Timetable

During September, our online Welcome Timetable lets you build your own programme for Welcome Week and beyond. For programmes starting at other times of the year, your School and programme will contact you directly with your induction and orientation schedule.

Postgraduate exclusive events

The University Graduate School provides support and opportunities for postgraduates - you can explore their activities for new and existing postgraduate taught students and postgraduate research students to find out more!

Guild of Students events

The Guild of Students is your students' union, and is there to ensure you get the most out of University life.

Please be cautious of unofficial Facebook groups and group chats on WhatsApp and Snapchat set up for 'University of Birmingham freshers' or accommodation sites. Be careful about who you are giving your information to. Many of these groups are set up by promoters who want to sell tickets to events that are not affiliated to the Guild of Students or the University, and may have members who pretending to be new students. Look out for official events on the Guild and University websites, and join the official accommodation groups for the Vale Village, Selly Oak Village, and Pritchatts Park.
