Students walking in the Green Heart on campus

Edgbaston campus tours

Take a campus tour to get that Birmingham feeling

We know it’s important that you get a chance to visit your future university. The best way to do that is to visit one of our open days throughout the year, where you'll have the opportunity to look around, speak to current students and staff about the courses that you're interested in, and get an idea of what life on campus could look like for you.

Booking a campus tour

If you can't make it along to a full open day, then a campus tour is an alternative way to explore our beautiful campus and get that Birmingham feeling.

Campus tours for visitors vary in timing and frequency for undergraduate and postgraduate students, so follow the links below to book a time and date for your level of study.

Subject information

We offer a range of subjects at the University so the student ambassador leading your tour is unlikely to be studying your course of interest, but we will try to arrange this for you. However all of our ambassadors have extensive experience of student life at the University. There are lots of other ambassadors available online for you to talk to about our programmes.

Individual visits and self-guided campus tours

Unfortunately, we are unable to arrange individual visits. If you cannot make one of our scheduled campus tours or if a particular date is fully booked or unavailable, you are welcome to have a look round independently and can visit campus any day between 9.00am and 4.00pm.

We also have a virtual tour of our campus available online, giving you the chance to look around some of the spaces you'd experience as a student here. We are continually adding new buildings and information to the tour so why not take the time to explore.

Exploring our city

Whether you know Birmingham like the back of your hand or you’ve not yet had the chance to visit, there’s always something new to explore in our city. Birmingham is more than just the Bullring; from galleries, symphony orchestras, and museums, to festivals, a thriving nightlife scene and incredible food, you’ll always have something fresh to discover. If you get the chance to explore our city before or after your event then we’d recommend taking it, and you can speak to our staff and students about the best places to explore.

Viewing accommodation

The best way to see what accommodation is on offer at Birmingham is to use the 360 tours available on the accommodation section of our website.
