The Centre for Professional Legal Education and Research is delighted to provide financial support for a select number of students to attend the forthcoming Criminal Bar Association Conference. This year’s Spring conference on 27th April is hosted by the University of Birmingham and focuses on the theme of ‘Recent Developments in Criminal Law’. Speakers include:

  • Professor David Ormerod - Law Commissioner for Criminal Law and Evidence and Professor of Criminal Justice at Queen Mary, University of London
  • Professor Cheryl Thomas - Professor of Judicial Studies in the UCL Faculty of Laws
  • Penelope Barrett - Commissioner, Criminal Cases Review Commission
  • Robert Banks – esteemed author of Banks on Sentence

The Criminal Bar Association will welcome a group of BLS students to the day’s conference, providing them with a greater understanding of the Criminal Bar and an opportunity to meet leading barristers in the field.
