The School of Metallurgy and Materials is one of the best materials science and engineering research centres in the country, having strong working relationships with many industrial partners. Our students have many hands-on opportunities to experience Materials Science and Engineering, with research projects spanning a variety of topics. The courses give you the freedom to specialise in areas of your choice by selecting a number of optional modules as well as individual and group research projects in year 3 and year 4.
