Pharmacy at Birmingham

As a Pharmacy student at the University of Birmingham you will develop your knowledge of the fundamentals of pharmaceutics, and gain the skills and experience required to become an outstanding pharmacist of the future.

You will learn in dedicated practical teaching facilities including formulation laboratories, dispensing and patient counselling suites as well as online virtual chemistry laboratories. Our students are known for their excellent communications skills. This is down to specialist teaching methods on the course which include practicing communication skills through role play scenarios, with specialist actors in real practice environments.

The University of Birmingham is one of only three institutions in the UK to teach such a wide range of health care related subjects, meaning you have fantastic opportunities for inter-professional learning alongside students from other medical and healthcare disciplines.

You will gain extensive placement experience right from the start of the course. Our exclusive relationships with two community pharmacies – Knights and Jhoots – provide vital practice placement opportunities and provide essential work experience to help secure your pre-registration year.

The MPharm programme at the University of Birmingham is the ideal balance of hands-on learning and in-depth study.
