The University of Birmingham has risen an impressive five places in the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings, it has been announced today.

The news is the latest accolade for the University, named by The Times last week as the UK University of the Year 2013-14.

The University of Birmingham is now ranked number 153 globally by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The rating is calibrated using 13 separate performance indicators to examine a university’s strengths against all of its core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.  

Today’s ranking further builds on the University’s recent strong league table performances in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2013, The Guardian University Guide 2014 and The Complete University Guide for 2014.
