Award Description

The College of Arts and Law is pleased to be able to offer a number of Distance Learning bursaries for research students, studying PhD, MA by Research or MRes programmes by distance learning during 2016-2017.

These awards are open to both current and prospective home/EU and overseas students, studying in all Schools in the College:  

Value of Award

Awards are worth up to £2,000 for full-time home/EU students and up to £3,000 for full-time overseas students and are paid as a contribution towards tuition fees. The value of the award will be adjusted pro-rata for part-time students. 

Eligibility Criteria

These bursaries are open to prospective or current students undertaking full-time or part-time distance learning PhD, MA by Research or MRes programmes, worldwide.

How to Apply

In order to apply, you must be a current student or have completed an application to study. If you need to make an application to study, please select a course from our Coursefinder listings, and select 'Apply now' from the right hand side of the page.  

You will then need to select the relevant application form below and return your completed form to by 4pm on 22 April 2016. Applicants for MA by Research or MRes programmes should complete the M-Level form, while PhD applicants should complete the PhD form. 

Your application must also be supported by two references. It is your responsibility as the applicant to forward the reference form to both nominated referees, and advise them that both references must be returned to by 4pm on 22 April 2016.
