Award Description

The Economic History Society will consider applications for grants – normally of up to £500 – to assist postgraduate students (Master's Degree and PhD) in United Kingdom colleges and universities with travel and accommodation expenses (not subsistence, i.e. food and drink) incurred in the undertaking of research into any aspect of economic and /or social history. Please note that no award will be made for the purchase of equipment, books and other materials or to fund conference attendance.

Up to £500.

Postgraduate students (Master's Degree and PhD) in United Kingdom colleges and universities.

How to Apply

Applications should be made online, supported by a supervisor's statement, to the Honorary Secretary, via the administrative secretary. Information concerning any attempts to obtain matching support from other sources should be submitted. 

It is expected that successful applicants will be, or will become, members of the Economic History Society.

Applicants will usually be informed of the outcome of their application within 6-8 weeks.
