The trustees are keen to support projects that focus on enriching the educational experiences of younger people; assisting particularly gifted or talented students. The process is open to UK postgraduates in developing their individual skills, particularly those students in medical education.
Value of Award
Applicants can apply for a bursary within the range £500 to a maximum of £2,000, issued in a single payment.
In assessing applications the Trustees wish to identify and assist particularly gifted or talented individuals who are struggling to support themselves financially through university or college.
The Foundation does not support funding for medical electives, volunteering, study abroad, gap year projects or overseas students.
It is a strict requirement of the Foundation that a link with commerce must be established for an application to be considered. To qualify either the applicant, the applicant’s parents or grandparents must have owned a commercial business. This does not include professional people, i.e. doctors, accountants, architects, solicitors, etc. Evidence may be required.
It is a mandatory condition that all grant recipients submit a progress report to the Trustees by 30th April of the academic year in which the grant was received.
