Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship recipients can pursue either a Masters or PhD programme at a local or overseas university. The scholarship will provide up to 2 years of sponsorship for a Masters degree and up to 5 years of sponsorship for a PhD degree. There is no restriction on the course of study.
Value of Award
Scholarship recipients will receive a one-off sum of S$10,000 and an annual allowance of:
- S$50,000 for private sector awardees; or
- S$10,000 for public sector awardees, if they are concurrently sponsored by their agencies.
Applicants, who must be Singapore citizens, will be assessed holistically. This includes their academic achievements and track record of leadership and service (e.g. volunteer work, social enterprise, contributions to cultural, scientific and/or academic communities etc.) within or beyond their profession. There are no restrictions on the course of study.
How to Apply
Applications are open from November to December each year. Shortlisted applicants will be required to sit for psychometric tests the following February and all applicants will be notified of their application outcomes by March. Interviews are held in April.
