Postgraduate Open Day

Discover why we're consistently one of the top UK universities targeted by leading graduate employers (High Fliers report, The Graduate Market 2026) at our Postgraduate Open Day.

Six reasons why you should visit our Postgraduate Open Day...

  • 1. Tour our campus and facilities

Our Postgraduate Open Day will be taking place on our beautiful 267-acre Edgbaston campus, so you can discover what life at Birmingham is really like. You can take a guided postgraduate campus tour to see highlights of the campus, as well as key locations for our postgraduate students. Some subject facilities will also be available for you to explore on a bookable tour.

  • 2. Discover your scholarship and funding options

We've put more than £33 million into student support and scholarships, to help you afford your postgraduate studies. We will be holding funding talks on the different options available to you at both Masters and PhD level, and our student ambassadors will be able to talk to you about how their scholarships have helped them throughout their studies.

  • 3. Meet our Birmingham academics

Our academics will be available to discuss the research and programmes you’re interested in, from modules, course structure, and suitability in relation to your previous experience. You can attend subject talks to hear more about your chosen course, or speak to our academics directly at subject drop-in stands.

  • 4. Hear first-hand from current students

Our student ambassadors will share their personal experience of postgraduate life, and can answer your questions about our courses, our campus, and our city. As current students, our ambassadors are some of the best people to speak to about why they decided that Birmingham was the best place for them.

  • 5. Discover our short courses

Whether you wish to up-skill for a new career, or simply study something you love, our Microcredentials and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses meet the needs of modern learners, empowering you to develop your skills to get you to where you want to be, faster. You’ll be joining a large, diverse and vibrant University, accessing world-leading and industry-ready education.

  • 6. Get advice from Student Support teams

Our Admissions staff can assist you with questions on your application, while our Careers and Funding teams will deliver presentations and advice on what may be available to you. You can also get advice from our Accommodation team about living in University-owned or privately-owned accommodation.
