A newly published book, New Directions in Local History since Hoskins (University of Hertfordshire Press, 2011), in association with the Centre for Local History at the University of Leicester, and the British Association for Local History, will be launched on Wednesday 28 September in Lecture Room 2, Arts Building, University of Birmingham between 5.00pm and 6.30pm. This important and innovative collection of essays by leading historians explores the ways in which local history has changed and developed in recent years. The launch is hosted by the Centre for West Midlands History on behalf of the editors and contributors. Copies of the book will be on sale.
