The workshop will be led by IAS DVF Professor Russell Death and Dr Mark Ledger (School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences)

As the frequency and severity of drought increase with global climate change the adverse impacts on the ecological communities living in rivers will also increase. There has been a considerable amount of experimental (including at the University of Birmingham) and observational investigation into the effects of drought on the ecology of British rivers. This workshop seeks to develop a model which draws this information together to allow a clear prediction of the potential effects, or the management options for mitigating those effects.
