Funding success for First World War Studies

Posted on Wednesday 22nd June 2011

We are delighted to announce that the Centre for First World War Studies was awarded two prestigious Marie Curie Fellowships (IEF & IIF) by the European Union.

The negotiations between the European Commission and the University have now been completed and we look forward to welcoming our Marie Curie Fellows, Dr Emmanuelle Cronier and Professor Paul Miller, who will be joining us for two years in September 2011.

In 2010, the success rates in these competitions were respectively 17% (IEF) and 12% (IIF).

These grants represent a combined value of approximately €544,000.

Most importantly, they will allow us to host two excellent scholars whose projects (WWI Allied Cultures / 28 June 1914: A day in European History and Memory) are described on our research pages.
