This weekend (12-13 Dec 2015) Professor Steve Busby, Head of School of Biosciences, will be giving an invited lecture at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore as part of the Institute's celebrations for 75 years of its Department of Microbiology and Cell Biology.

Professor Busby's lecture is entitled Regulation at simple and complex bacterial promoters and will illustrate how complex promoters have evolved by the combination of a small number of different simple mechanisms, and show how this results in tight control of virulence gene expression.
