During the Autumn term of the 2014/15 academic year, the Global Value Chains Research Cluster offered a series of lunchtime seminars to further learning and debate around the topic. Each monthly seminar was held at 12 noon on Thursdays in the Library Meeting Room in the Business School and focused on the following areas:

  • 23 October - Firm power in servitized chains (delivered by Dr. Ferran Vendrell-Herrero)
  • 20 November - Understanding innovation dynamics through global value chains, global production networks and global innovation networks. Possibilities and limitations (delivered by Professor Cristina Chaminade,  Professor in Innovation Studies and coordinator of the research area on Globalization of Innovation at CIRCLE (Lund University, Sweden)

  • 4 December - Legislation and the European Civil Aviation Industry Supply Chain: Impact on Ground Handling Service Providers (GHSP) and Implications for GHSP Labour (delivered by Dr. Geraint Harvey)
