The GVC research cluster would like to welcome a new member of the group, Kurt Yang Liu, who joined the Department of Procurement and Operations Management in June 2016.
Kurt completed his PhD from the University of Cambridge, where his research focused on ‘Sustainable Supply Chain Management in the Automotive Industry’. Kurt has previously worked at an international logistics company based in China and for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Consulting in Sydney, Australia. Furthermore, he has gained a great deal of experience on sustainable supply network design from several industrial consulting projects and research projects funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Chinese Social Science Institute.
Kurt is also interested in the emerging dynamics in international business, especially in regard to the relationship between China and the UK. He is currently working on a multinational research project that investigates the impact of national logistics capabilities on firm’s sustainable performance with colleagues from China and Australia. Kurt is also keen to seek collaborations with interested scholars from other countries.
