College of Arts and Law alumni bursary

  graduation

The College of Arts and Law has an alumni bursary scheme for all University of Birmingham graduates .

Anyone who is an alumnus of the University of Birmingham will be entitled to a £750 reduction on full-time postgraduate taught courses in the College of Arts and Law.

What if my degree is from another College?

You can be a graduate of any College in the University of Birmingham and still be eligible for the bursary, as long as you study a postgraduate degree in the College of Arts and Law.

Does it matter when I graduated?

Not at all – so if you studied with us in previous years and are now considering a return to study, you will still be eligible for the bursary. .

Does the bursary apply to part-time courses?

Yes, if you started a part-time postgraduate course from September 2013 onwards. In this case, the bursary will be applied pro-rata (i.e. £375 in your first year of study if studying a course over two years).

If you started a part-time course prior to September 2013, you will not be eligible for the bursary.

What can I study?

The alumni bursary applies to all MA, MSc, MRes and LLM courses across the College, as well as the LLB for Graduates. We offer around 100 Masters courses across a variety of subjects, including Classics, English, Heritage, History, Law, Music, Philosophy, Theology and much more.

Please visit take a look at our course listings for a full list of subject areas available in the College of Arts and Law. (Please note: the bursary is not available for doctoral research programmes.)

Am I eligible for postgraduate study?

How much will my postgraduate degree cost?

We charge an annual tuition fee. Standard fees for 2014/15 are as follows:
