We offer a wide range of challenging, up-to-date degree programmes. You can choose from the following list of accredited three year BEng and four Year MEng single or joint honours degree programmes. At Birmingham, everyone follows an integrated BEng or MEng route for the first two years. Once you have finished your second year you then choose whether to complete a BEng or MEng degree.
Civil engineering has been taught at Birmingham since 1875 (prior to the University’s inception) which means that our graduates have been shaping the future for over 135 years. Our staff and students continue to be at the forefront of the Civil Engineering industry and work on a diverse range of projects which help to solve today’s problems and those of the future.
Our Civil Engineering degrees offer the best of both worlds, a relatively small intake in year one enables us to provide high quality small group teaching, while the size and strength of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences and the University provides the benefits you would expect from a large University. If you would like to know more reasons why we believe your experience at Birmingham would be special, please see ten reasons to choose Civil Engineering at Birmingham.
