On 12th October the Centre for Advanced Research in English (CARE) hosted a ‘coffee morning’ for all its CARE visiting scholars. The venue was historic Winterbourne, a beautifully restored ‘Arts and Crafts’ style family home, with extensive gardens (now the university’s Botanic Garden). Built in 1900, was formerly associated with two leading Birmingham families of the late 19th century, the Chamberlains and the Nettlefolds. Pictured here are visiting scholar May, and Michelle Devereux, CARE Administrator.
