We are delighted to welcome Dr Ruth Page, our new Senior Lecturer in Stylistics, who will be joining our department in September.

We are very much looking forward to benefitting from her internationally-renowned expertise in Narrative and New Media.

Ruth Page’s research interests include discourse-analytic approaches to narrative and gender, as well as the evolution of narrative forms in social media contexts. She is the author of Literary and Linguistic Approaches to Feminist Narratology (Palgrave, 2006), Stories and Social Media (Routledge, 2012), Narratives Online: Shared Stories and Social Media Controversies (Cambridge University Press, forthcoming), editor of New Perspectives on Narrative and Multimodality (Routledge, 2010), and coeditor of New Narratives: Stories and Storytelling in the Digital Age (University of Nebraska Press, 2011), and lead author of the student textbook, Researching the Language of Social Media (Routledge, 2014). Her publications in journals and edited collections have explored narratives in a wide range of contexts, from print literature and the mainstream media to conversational stories and stories published in online contexts such as blogs, social network sites and Wikipedia.
