Professor Michael Toolan has just been elected as Head of the Poetics and Linguistics Association (PALA).
PALA is an international academic association for those who work in stylistics, poetics, and associated fields of language and linguistics.
The Association is growing and now includes members from many countries worldwide. It hosts an international conference annually, and sponsors seminars and symposia. The Association's journal, Language and Literature, is the foremost publication in the field. We also publish conference proceedings, and maintain this website. PALA has a special interest in supporting postgraduate researchers and new academics. We welcome postgraduates, academic staff, critics and writers, and anyone interested in the above fields of study.
