Senior lecturer Dr Chris Szwed has been awarded a Birmingham University Teaching Fellowship. Only two of these awards are made each year across the University. The purpose of the award is to

  • recognise and celebrate individuals who make an outstanding impact on the student learning experience;
  • contribute to raising the profile of teaching at the University;

The award will be used to further develop the successful PGDipEd teacher education programme for international students. She will investigate and trial new methods of teaching and learning and support so that the differing cultural, educational and professional contexts of students are recognised and celebrated.

In addition, the project will provide support for colleagues through, for example, information sharing, mentoring, and identifying best practice.
