MOSAIC has received a grant from AHRC to participate in the Being Human Festival of the Humanities. Being Human aims to engage the public with the very best of the innovative research taking place across the humanities. The focus of the festival will be on activities that make humanities research accessible to the general public and that demonstrate the role of the humanities in the cultural, intellectual, political and social life of the UK.

MOSAIC will use the funds to collaborate with the Library of Birmingham to present Simon Armitage, one of the UK's leading poets, in two free events: a workshop on Translating Voice, and a poetry reading. Details can be found here: http://beinghumanfestival.org/event/translating-voice/

These events are linked to the AHRC 'Translation and Translanguaging' project. http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/generic/tlang/index.aspx
