John Ryan, Lecturer in Primary Education and Early Years was interviewed by Midlands Today on 11th May 2015 for a feature on Year 6 SAT tests. He believes that the tests are ineffective and create unnecessary stress. He says:
'We have not been preparing children for their future lives and they see the tests as just a hurdle to get through and research just points to the fact that children don't retain what they have learnt they just remember it for the tests'
