Catherine Muller, Lee Chapman and Duick Young have successfully been granted a small award from the UK Space Agency. The money will be used for purchasing equipment and developing workshops and resources for schools.
The project, entitled ‘Hot Cities: Monitoring the Health of Our Cities from Space’, links in nicely with the HiTemp research project currently being carried out in GEES and will help to strengthen its overall impact. They will be liaising with the UK Space Academy and the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO) as part of this, building on the excellent work they are currently carrying out with other universities and schools.
This is Catherine’s second award from the UK Space Agency, through which she has developed a number of engaging and interactive STEM, geography and environmental activities for a range of age groups.
