Footprints from Alveley

First-year Palaeobiology and Palaeoenvironments BSc student Luke Meade has been awarded an Undergraduate Research Bursary from the Palaeontological Association.

This bursary will allow Luke to spend eight weeks this summer working together with Dr Richard Butler and PhD student Andrew Jones on a research project. This research project will focus on a unique collection of Carboniferous footprints from Shropshire held in the Lapworth Museum of Geology.

Luke will use photogrammetry to digitise and study these footprints, providing new insights into the anatomy and diversity of early reptiles and amphibians that produced them, as well as helping the Lapworth Museum to conserve and display these important specimens.
