Professor Jean McHale, Director of the Center for Health Science and Policy at Birmingham Law School took part in a debate entitled "Healthy ageing in the 21st Century: a question of individual rights, state responsibility or something we simply can't afford?" at a Fringe Event at the Labour Party Conference in Manchester this month.

The debate is related to the new Birmingham Policy Commission on "Ageing,  Death and 21st Century medicine" which will begin its work in Spring 2011.

Professor McHale can be heard talking about the issues which it is intended that the Policy Commission in a University of Birmingham Ideaslab podcast.
