The Supreme Court of Canada cited, as authority, Birmingham Law School Professor Robert Cryer’s co-authored work An Introduction to International Criminal Law and Procedure this month. The Supreme Court of Canada is the highest Court of Canada. The case, which related to refugee status and international crimes, was Ezkola v Canada (Citizenship and Immigration [2013] SCC 40 (19 July 2013)

Cambridge University Press published the second edition of An Introduction to International Criminal Law and Procedure in 2013. It is a leading textbook on international crimes. A third edition will be published in 2014.

Robert Cryer is Professor of International and Criminal Law at the University of Birmingham, UK, where he teaches, amongst other things, international law, criminal law theory, international criminal law, and transnational criminal law.
