Archive of 17th-Century Italian Madrigals and Arias (ASCIMA)

The following editions, freely downloadable for study and performance, are now available from the Archive of Seventeenth-Century Madrigals and Arias:

Giovanni Rovetta, Madrigali concertati..libro secondo (Venice, 1640), ed. John Whenham.

And, newly added:

Giovanni Valentini, Secondo libro de madrigali (Venice, 1616), ed. Pyrros Bamichas.

Each volume is provided with translations of the madrigal/aria texts into English and German, and introductions to the volumes in English, German and Italian. Individual works, with instrumental parts where relevant, can also be downloaded separately.
