Participants in the National Student Survey (NSS) have ranked Mathematics highly at the University of Birmingham with 92% student satisfaction. These outstanding results rank Mathematics ahead of Durham, Nottingham and Sheffield within the Russell Group. A number of individual courses within the School also attained an impressive 100% score.

The National Student Survey has been undertaken annually since 2005 and is open to final year undergraduate students at institutions in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The survey is designed to assess students' opinions of the quality of their degree programmes, with seven different scores published including an "overall satisfaction" mark.

NSS is conducted by Ipsos MORI on behalf of the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).

The NSS survey highlights the Schools commitment to outstanding student experience and reinforces the University's position as a high quality world-class institution.
