Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Birmingham has maintained its UK top ten ranking in the latest Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018.
The Times league table position follows the School achieving third place, with a 93% student satisfaction rating, in the National Student Survey 2017, and being ranked second overall in the Guardian University Guide 2018. We also appear in the top 100 in the QS World University Rankings for Materials Science.
The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide is created using a variety of criteria including student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and university dropout rates.
Professor Alison Davenport, Head of School of Metallurgy and Materials, said:
