Social work managers enjoyed a lively debate at yesterday's seminar on "Systems, targets and performance management in public services".

The seminar was led by Simon Guilfoyle, a serving Police Inspector and systems thinker, passionate about doing the right thing in policing. Simon writes, lectures and advises on the benefits of incorporating systems thinking principles into policing, with the help of Stick Child (an imaginary 9 year old).

You may wish to read about some of Stick Child's adventures on Simon's blog (http://inspguilfoyle.wordpress.com/) or take a look at his book, Intelligent Policing.
