Paul Burstow, recently appointed Professor of Mental Health Policy for the School of Social Policy has written a Viewpoint piece to publicise Mental Health Awareness Week which runs from 16th -22nd May and focuses on the themes of relationships.

Paul was the Liberal Democrat MP for Sutton and Cheam between 1997 and 2015 and served as the minister of state for care services between 2010 and 2012. In the latter role he covered a wide range of social policy issues including mental health, adult social care, carers, personal health budgets, safeguarding vulnerable adults, end of life care and long term conditions. He is also Chair of the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust  - a specialist mental health Trust in London.
