Postgraduate researchers from the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences have been celebrating following their success at the annual University of Birmingham Research Poster Conference 2013. 112 presenters from across the institution presented their research at the seventh annual event held on Wednesday 12 June in the University’s Great Hall.

There were four representatives from the School in total, with Jon Allsop, Simon Phelan, Danielle Fintelman and Adam Bibbey all presenting their work to the judges. Danielle came runner-up in the College of Life and Environmental Sciences category, and Adam Bibbey was the overall winner of the conference, including first place in the College of Life and Environmental Sciences. Adam also received the runner-up prize in the Birmingham Brief competition due to the quality of his abstract. The Birmingham Brief is an expert comment piece issued every week by the University, which aims to provide concise, relevant and timely expert comment and helps to demonstrate the breadth and quality of Birmingham’s research work.
