Undergraduate Medical and Dental Sciences courses

Students at a lecture

The College of Medical and Dental Sciences offers a range of undergraduate programmes spanning Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy. Our highly respected MBChB and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) both take 5 years to complete and produce over 400 qualified doctors and 75 qualified dentists every year, who go on to life long careers in the healthcare world.

Pharmacy is a new programme which has been added to the range of undergraduate degree programmes offered by the College. This programme takes 4 years to complete, with students undertaking 52 weeks pre-registration training after graduation. Once this training is complete they take the General Pharmaceutical Council’s pre-registration examination before being able to practise as a Pharmacist.

Our other programmes also have an excellent reputation and take 3 years to complete. They produce high quality medical scientists, nurses, and qualified dental hygienists and therapists, many of whom come back in later life to continue with their studies at postgraduate level.
