Dr Sadiah Qureshi "The thing I enjoy most about being at the University of Birmingham is working with students. It’s one of the most rewarding elements of the job...it helps me think about how to present my research to lots of different kinds of communities because we have such a diverse student body here."
Sadiah's research focuses on how the histories of race, science and empire are relevant to the contemporary world. This includes debates about the dispossession and future of endangered races and the restitution of land rights to formerly colonised peoples.
Sadiah's first book looked at the commercial exhibition of foreign peoples in the nineteenth century and she is currently working on notions of human extinction and interethnic conflict in settler colonies.
