Significant recent awards in the College include:

  • Dr M Attallah from the School of Metallurgy and Materials was awarded £83,000 from MBDA Ltd for Manufacture of reactive structures using selective laser melting
  • Professor M Barigou from the School of Chemical Engineering was awarded £508,000 from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council for Understanding the Stability and Properties of Bulk Nano-bubble
  • Dr S Nagaraja from the School of Computer Science was awarded £346,000 from Engineering and Physical Sciences Researdh Council for Robustness-as-evolvability: building a dynamic control plane with Software-Defined Networking
  • Professor N Rowson from the School of Chemical Engineering was awarded £197,000 from the Technology Strategy Board for Accelerated Manufacturing with Chrome Free Sacrificial Cermet Coatings in Aerospace
  • Dr A D Quinn from the School of Civil Engineering was awarded £149,000 from OVE ARUP and Partners for TRaCCA T1009-03 (Rail Safety)
  • Dr R Stolkin from the School of Mechanical Engineering was awarded £115,000 from the Technology Strategy Board for KTP with KUKA Robotics UK Ltd - To develop a new toolbox of software and alogoriths
  • Dr P Tricoli from the School of Electronic, Electrical and Computer Engineering was awarded £99,000 from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council for A New Generation of Modular Multilevel Converters Integrating Energy Storage Devices for Dual-Voltage Railways
