We are extremely pleased to see that the vast majority of our current final year students have already secured their pre-registration placements in some of the top teaching and training hospitals and prestigious community pharmacies in the UK.

pharmacy pre reg news

This pre-registration year, where trainees develop their practice to meet a number of performance standards, takes place in an approved practice setting under the supervision of a tutor and is the final step in becoming a UK-registered practicing pharmacist.

The School of Pharmacy at the University of Birmingham has built fantastic links with key pharmacy partners over the past four years, including exclusive relationships with two of the largest independent pharmacy chains in the Midlands – Knights and Jhoots. These exclusive relationships provide the vital work experience required to secure pre-registration placement years.

During the summer of 2017 we will see our very first cohort of Undergraduate Pharmacy students graduate from the University of Birmingham. This will be the final step in achieving full accreditation of our MPharm Pharmacy degree by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). We are certain that this accreditation will cement our position as a leading provider of Pharmacy education in the UK.
