University of Birmingham’s Centre for Research in Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship (CREME), Citizens UK Birmingham (CUK) and NatWest Bank are partners on an 18-month landmark project to support the City’s migrant entrepreneurs.

CREME (and UoB’s Business Engagement team), CUK and NatWest are collaborating on a pioneering project (hereafter the ‘business leaders project’ [BLP]) that will train business leaders and support firms in some of the most deprived areas of Birmingham.

The BLP is worth in excess of £250,000 and comprises a cash contribution from the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) and substantial ‘in-kind’ support for business training from NatWest, UoB and CUK. It is the first project of its kind for all parties concerned, and represents a unique partnership between UoB, civil society, the public sector and the private sector.
