Late-Night Exchange: COP26

To keep global warming below the CO2 upper limit in the Paris Agreement, we’ll need sharp reductions in carbon emissions. We know that climate change poses a complex challenge with no simple solutions. But if the history of human endeavour has taught us anything, it’s that by uniting in a common purpose we can accomplish the seemingly impossible.

While the leaders of the world meet in the UK for COP26, we will host an evening of expert insight, passionate discussion and personal reflection on this global and local threat. We’ll consider climate change and action from multiple angles, with short talks, panel sessions and events - connecting you with experts, activists and residents in a stimulating evening of debate.

This event is presented as part of The Air We Breathe, a brand new public progamme at The Exchange bringing together cutting edge research from across the University of Birmingham. From a hydrogen train to a sci-fi forest, discover how the University is delivering clean air both here in Birmingham and around the world.

This event is part of the ESRC Festival of Social Sciences. Spanning the month of November a range of interactive virtual and physical events will be free and open to the public - find out more about our other events as we discuss Our Changing World!
