Meet the Scientist (part of BAW 2012)

An important responsibility of scientists is to engage with the general public and explain the reasons for, the approaches to, and the benefits that their research activity brings. Encouraging neuroscientists to leave the labs and the clinical wards and come and engage in a public place is one of the important aims of the Brain Awareness Week.

On Saturday 17th March 2012, from 12 to 4 pm, in collaboration with thinktank, the Museum of Science and Technology of Birmingham, a Meet the Scientist event will take place.

This will be an occasion for the young people of all ages to meet scientists from the groups of Prof. Ann Logan — Professor of Molecular Neuroscience, School of Clinical and Experimental Medicine; and Dr. Alicia Hidalgo— NeuroDevelopment Group, School of Biosciences, both at the University of Birmingham. The scientists will take the floor and present various aspects of their activities, propose different practical demonstrations and be ready to engage and discuss on various aspects of neurosciences.
