We are pleased to announce that Booker Prize winner Bernardine Evaristo will be joining us this year for a discussion on the subject of Happiness at the University of Birmingham!

Currently Professor of Creative Writing at Brunel University London, Bernardine Evaristo is known to be the first Black woman and Britain’s first Black author to win the Booker Prize. Writing within a range of genres, including fiction, poetry, essay, literary criticism, journalism, radio and theatre drama, Bernardine’s books have been an inspiration to many aspiring authors.

‘Manifesto- On Never Giving Up’ is considered to be incredibly motivating as it explores Bernardine’s heritage, childhood, relationships, lifestyle and the origins of her artistic life. Her memoir is widely appreciated and proof of how one writer found her place in the world through storytelling.

Join us for this exclusive event where Bernardine will provide her account on the true meaning of happiness!
